The Sheharabano Orphan Project aims to raise money and awareness for the support of orphans around the world. The aim of the program is to provide basic necessities to orphans, improve their healther and nutrition, implement projects within the community and support the children by providing higher quality education, improving their social life and providing them with moral guidance.
The cost of supporting an orphan for one year is approxmatily $450 dollars. We hope to raise enough money to sponsor ten (10) orphans around the world!

Sheharbano Sangji, (“Sheri”), was 23 years old when she passed away in 2009. She recently graduated from Pomona College in California. She loved science (chemistry), cared about the environment, and was passionate about justice and human rights, specifically women’s rights. She was head of the Muslim Students’ Association and volunteered at the South Asian Network. She had also applied and been accepted to several law schools.
Sheri adored children- she would spend hours playing with younger cousins and children of professors at college.
Her compassion for children led her to sponsor orphans in Pakistan- she had been supporting a child for many years while she was in college. Two years ago on the Eid holiday, she sponsored another child.
In her time of happiness she never forgot that there are children who have very little. This is what we hope to remember from our dear sister and friend, Sheharbano.

The Shaharbanu Orphan Project hopes to raise $4000 dollars to sponsor ten children from five different countries: Tanzania, Pakistan, India, Indonesia and Cambodia.

The Sherarbano Orphan Project hopes to collect $4000 dollars in donations to sponsor ten children. Please donate generously. Most recently, we have collected money to support the Orphans who were affected by the Mt. Merapi Volcano eruption in Indonesia (Nov, 2010). We provided the Orphans with aid and support.
Also in Indonesia, we contributed to the Eid-ul-Adha project by Our Village which provided food, toys, gifts, and supplies to orphanages in Bali, Indonesia.
To this point, the Sheharbano Orphan Project has contributed towards orphans in Pakistan, Cambodia, and Indonesia.
