Muhammad Abbas Sajeed Manek
May 27, 1976 - May 26, 1986

OUR VILLAGE was originally named The MA Foundation after the late Muhammad Abbas Sajeed Manek.  Born on May 27th, 1976 to Jaffer and Zeenat Manek, Sajeed lived his life full of joy and happiness putting smiles on the faces of everyone he met.  He was a strong and motivated individual who overcame the most difficult situations with a spirit unlike any other.

He taught us the importance of patience and understanding as he struggled with Leukemia from the age of three.  Sajeed showed us the true meaning of strength and bravery when placed in difficult situations and surroundings.

During his life, Sajeed showed us what it meant to struggle, suffer, and challenge  the obstacles that he faced. He taught us that our lives are short and we must use the little resources we have to help make others lives easier. He showed us that no matter who we are, no matter where we come from or which religion we follow, we must embrace each other under the flag of humanity with honour and dignity.

Sajeed overcame many obstacles in his short life, but in the end he was taken away from us on his 10th birthday, 1986. He left behind his two loving parents, two sisters, and younger brother.

His smile, his love, and his spirit, will forever be missed. OUR VILLAGE hopes to take what we learned from this young man, and translate it into helping those in need …

while putting smiles on the faces of everyone we meet
