Indonesian Volcano Relief Efforts

As Mount Merapi has erupted for a third time in Indonesia, Our Village has partnered with local Indonesian groups to help the 47,000 people who have been displaced in refugee camps.

The Founder of Our Village, Ali Manek, and his wife went to Indonesia to deliver donations that had been fundraised to help those in need and provide a special Eid-ul-Adha program for refugees and orphans. Please read the full report HERE or visit Our Village on Facebook!

With over 250 people already dead and hundreds more with serious injuries, Our Village is hoping to raise some money to help those in need. Currently our friends in Indonesia have built 5 refugee centers where over 5000 people and 1000 children have come for shelter and food. Many of the refugees have lost their homes and are in need of basic resources.

Our Village is currently collecting donations to help the victims. Donations we received until now have gone towards emergency relief for victims and orphans. However as they enter another phase in the relief efforts, our partners have opened up Children Relief Centers in the refugee camps to help children have a safe place to learn and recover from the trauma. They have set up these centers with a full staff of volunteer teachers and psychologists. All donations made will go towards this initiative.
